  • Wah Lee Industrial announced its December 2017 unaudited consolidated sales of NT$4,008M

January 09, 2018  Wah Lee Industrial Corp. (3010.TT) announced December 2017 unaudited consolidated sales of NT$4,008M, an 8.04% growth from the same period last year.  Full year 2017 consolidated sales was NT$42,915M and grew by 8.53%, compared to FY2016.  4Q2017 quarterly sales set record high at NT$11,901M.

The PCB industry in 2017 showed QoQ growth and had a strong 2nd half, mainly because of the more and more features of the smartphones, including dual camera, sensors, wireless charger, etc.  According to industry survey, the Taiwanese PCB industry value reached NT$536 billion and grew 5.5% YoY.  It is expected that the growth trend will continue.

Wah Lee has been providing total solutions to PCB industry for over 40 years.  The company carries leading Japanese suppliers’ raw materials and equipment and helps the technology advancement of Taiwanese PCB makers.  Take “Dry Film” for example.  As flagship smartphones have more complicated functions and use growing numbers of IC chips, the PCBs inside have narrower circuit width.  Therefore, SLP (Substrate-Like PCB) has come to meet the demand.  The high-end dry film needed for making SLP is provided by Wah Lee to PCB makers who cater their products to the leading US smartphone company.  This has stimulated the PCB sales of Wah Lee.  Additionally, BitCoin, which is getting attentions since last year, needs many high-end servers for its mining calculation.  These servers also require high grade PCBs that will be produced with the aides of high-end dry films provided by Wah Lee.  This will provide additional contribution to Wah Lee’s PCB sales in the coming year.

The applications of Wah Lee’s PCB raw materials have included communication devices, servers, semiconductors and expanded into new generation electronic currencies and cloud computing.  Therefore, Wah Lee’s PCB sales in 2017 have grown by mid-to-high double digits as compared to the previous year.  With the help of above new applications, it is believed that the PCB sales will continue to grow in the years to come.
