  • Wah Lee Industrial announced its June 2018 unaudited consolidated sales of NT$4,447M

    July 12, 2018  Wah Lee Industrial Corp. (3010.TT) announced June 2018 unaudited consolidated sales of NT$4,447M, a 20.12% growth from the same period last year; 2Q18 sales reached NT$13.408M, setting quarterly sales record high and grew by 15.19% QoQ and 32.56% YoY.  Cumulative 2018 Jan.-Jun. consolidated sales was NT$25,048M and increased by 29.76%, compared to the same period last year, also setting half year sales record high.

     

    Due to its flexibility, color saturation, color contrast, and power saving, OLED has been adopted to be the display of many portable devices, smartphones, monitors, TVs, and even automobile-based displays.  Apple’s iPhones have used OLED in its latest products.  More and more smartphone players followed that and boosted the usage and demand for OLED.  According to IHS, OLED sales will reach US$43 billion in 2020 and US$49.5 billion in 2024 and will take up 36% of the total value of Flat Panel Display market.  Currently, OLED are mostly produced by Korean and Chinese manufacturers.  The Chinese OLED producers include: BOE, CSOT, Tianma display, Everdisplay, Truly, Visionox, etc.  The production value and demand for raw materials for OLED are expected to grow exponentially.

     

    Wah Lee plays an important role in the Chinese FPD industry and supplies critical raw materials and equipment for the industry, including in the OLED segment.  Wah Lee currently supplies Japanese and Taiwanese equipment and materials to Chinese uprising OLED players.  OLED related sales of Wah Lee in 1H18 has grown by close to 2.5 times YoY.  Wah Lee will keep exploring the OLED industry to see if we could provide more raw materials and equipment to the industry.  As a result, FPD sales in 1H18 has almost doubled from last year and is expected to make a great achievement this year.

     

    Wah Lee has been a leading supplier of high-end engineering plastics and PCB raw materials as well. PCB sales has grown significantly due to the demand for high frequency and SLP(substrate-like PCB) PCBs.  Wah Lee’s ICT material (including high-end engineering plastics & PCB) sales has grown by 30% in the first half and showed significant growth momentum.

     

    Wah Lee’s leading position in semiconductor materials is also obvious.  Wah Lee has made great amount of semicon raw material sales to Taiwanese as well as Chinese semiconductor customers.  Wah Lee’s semiconductor sales has continued its growth trend in the first half of this year.

     

    Wah Lee showed very successful sales records in all of the aforementioned industries and therefore 1H18 sales set a record high in history.  The 1H18 sales reached NT$25,048M and increased by 29.76%, compared to the same period of last year.
